THE BIG IDEA

Right now, over 6.3 million young people around the world suffer from anxiety or depression. Which means, you aren’t alone if you’re experiencing mental health struggles, and should never feel embarrassed, ashamed, or guilty for having a human experience. So, in honor of Mental Health Action Day, we’re coming together to openly and honestly support one another & provide access to resources so YOU can take action and improve your mental health.

We’re ASK-ing you to take one step toward positive mental health this month! It’s super simple.

  • STEP 2: Get started!

  • STEP 3: You’re done! Thanks to our partner, BetterHelp, 10 students will be randomly selected to win 3 MONTHS of free therapy! (Keep an eye on your email to see if you’re a winner.)

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? 

Along with gaining access to FREE mental health resources, 10 (randomly selected) students who pledge to join our campaign will receive 3 months of free therapy sessions thanks to our partner, BetterHelp.

PLEDGE 1: ACKNOWLEDGE

Take some time to self-reflect and acknowledge something that you’ve personally been struggling with. Maybe it’s an intrusive thought that you haven’t been able to shake. Or maybe your stress level has been higher than usual and you need to find a way to decompress. Once you’ve acknowledged what’s going on, take one step towards addressing it. This might look like confiding in a close friend, spending time unplugged in nature, having a self-care day, finding a tutor or therapist… the possibilities are endless. What’s most important is that you dedicate time to doing something positive for your own mental health!

PLEDGE 2: SUPPORT

Identify someone in your world who has something important coming up – an important test, a big performance, a difficult anniversary, an upcoming deadline. Write them a note of encouragement and let them know they have your support. You can even ask: “What do you need from me during this time?” because sometimes people are hesitant to ask for help or support until you offer it directly. (And here’s the cool part: We often find that being of service to someone else is the key to improving our own mental health!)

PLEDGE 3: KEEP IN TOUCH

Think of someone in your life who you’re missing or haven’t spent enough time with lately. Shoot them a call or text and set up a time to hang out, (either IRL or over the phone) this month. Be sure to give them your full and undivided attention and check in on how they’re doing. You can take it a step further and establish a consistent time and place to connect so it’s easier to keep in touch!
